What Orwell Didn't Know

In the reading of what Orwell Didn't Know, George Orwell talks about politic and the English language. He inform his readers, when you are writing in the English language, people should write clearly and in Lehman terms,so where everyone can understand. Orwell said if you use difficult words, people wouldn't be able to follow those readings. He gives six simply rules for writing, in which this will make a person keep their writing short, clear, and understandable.

I agree with George Orwell that writing should be short and precise, and if we go by his six rules we could become better writer by using shorter word, and just getting to the point. I think by Orwell writing this in his book it give me a little more confident in my writing and many others. I was very surprise that he used a bible scripture to inform his readers that writing in this form is nothing new.

  1. I was also surprised to see that bible scripture was represented by Orwell as a model to how writing should be. It is clear evidence that people's writing used to be better and precise.
