NATO may hike troops: Afghanistan aid is mulled

This article was written by Lara Jakes and Slobodan Lekic, Saturday, october 24,2009 published by the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
According to this article NATO and the United Nation Officials they are asking for more international troops to be place in Afghanistan. President Obama has yet made a decision. The troops are needed to eliminate terrorist threats by the Taliban and another part is to protect people in the local communities of Afghan. I understand that this is a nation to protect and serve, but under the circumstance that are own country in a recession, I disagree with NATO and United Nation Officials. I personally don't think more money should be wasted on this "war". This has being taking place for nine years. I think Obama should just end this war and bring all the troops home. Why should the war continue when they don't know the reason why their fighting the war in the first place. Really, I think we have our own war going on in America that needs a lot of attention. We have a lot of people who is homeless and losing their jobs everday. I think this was a very important article and a very important issues that should have been addressed, because Americans need to know where taxes payer money is being distribe.

Maria Shriver Schwarzenegger was caught on tape using a cell phone on July 12 and oct 11, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said the issue has been dealt with. Now Maria is saying she is going to donate her old cell phone to a program that helps domestic violence victims. On a personal note, I disagree with decision Maria made,She talking about donating her cell phone to a program. I think this is a joke. I feel like she need to pay a citation violation, just like any other citizen. Maria Shriver-Schwarzenegger need to set a example for the rest Califorinan.

Job competition at toughest level since recession began

This article was written by Christopher S. Rugaber on Saturday October 10, 2009 posted in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin. According to the write-up Christopher Rugaber reported that 6.3 aspirants to 1, which it mean that their are 6.3 million people who are unemployed competing for 1 job. He states that since the recession began in December 2007, 7.2 million jobs were cut. Since the layoffs are slowing down, and the hiring process has yet to recover. Shierholz said the economy faces a "jobs gap" almost 10 million, in order to close that gap and go into a pre-recession the economy would have to create 500,000 jobs in two years. Economists states there are several reason why companies are not hiring. I agree with the writer many people are competing for 1 job. There are many people I know have been layoff work for one year, due to competition in the workforce. I think this doesn't only effect the people I know but this is effecting a lot of people around the world. I feel that the government should give some of these companies a little more incentive like a tax break so they can start hiring again. I know the stimulus was suppose to help, but we see that it never trickled down. I think this was a good article to publish because people need to be updated about unemployment, the increase and decrease in jobs.

Repeat Molester gets more time

Repeated Child Molester gets more prison time
This article was published by Inland Valley DailyBullein, on Sunday, October 4, 2009
In this article it talk about a repeated child molester, who go by the name of Dennis James Ward. Dennis lived in the Orange County area. The newspapers states that Dennis Ward was up for parole in 2007. Dennis was a 3rd time offender of molestation. Dennis was previous serving 12-23 year in prison for molesting a relative. Ward was given additional 29 year in the state prison.
By reading this article I have very mix feeling about the judicial system. I believe that if a person is let out of the prison on the secord offense of molesting children, there is something wrong with the judicial system. This man has detroyed many children lives, even one of his own relative. I agree with the judge by given Dennis Ward more time, but I feel like the judge didn't give him enough time. 29 years is not enough tim for this man to serve, I think he should had received a life sentence, because these children have to suffer for the rest of their lives. I don't believe in judging anyone but in this case when it come to children, I am willing to put my personal beliefs to the side.
